Yeah I know, the title is a mouthful. Hello ladies, how are you doing this lovely Thursday? I can’t lie, fuel scarcity has been affecting your girl oh, the increase in prices has just been… but with God, we can scale through.

Today I’m going to be reviewing a product which has become my staple (till I find one better) leave in conditioner, here we go.

Product: Elasta Qp Olive Oil and Mango Butter Anti-Breakage Leave In Conditioner.

Product information: Perfect for natural, braided and straight styles to soften, silken and moisturize leaving texture feeling like silk.

Product promise: Moisturizing butter of Mango and Olive Oil adds strength, moisture and shine to even the most brittle, damaged hair, anti-breakage Leave-In Conditioner, intensive treatment.

Size: 15 oz.

Ingredients: Aqua, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olive Oil, Mangifera Indica Seed Butter/Mango Butter, Argania Spinosa Nut Oil/Argan Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil/Coconut Oil, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract/Rosemary Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit/Shea Butter, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylates Copolymer, Glycerin, Polyquaternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, DMDM Hydantoin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Daucus Carota Sativa Root Oil/Carrot Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Citronellal, d-Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool.

Smell: So yummy! You could actually be tempted to eat it, it smells so good.

Consistency: So buttery, like blue band spread for bread kind of buttery consistency.

Price: N1800.

Where to buy: I bought mine from Olori, Sizzelle also stocks.

How I use: After DCing, on damp hair I practically slather this all over my hair because I do the LOC method and for days my hair feels dry/brittle, I apply a generous amount.

The Good:

– The smell! It smells so nice and it lingers too but not for too long.

– I love tubs so the fact this product comes in a tub is a win for me, it just makes accessibility easier.

– It is true to its word, my hair actually feels a lot softer/moisturized after use.

– I love that it is infused with all these natural ingredients and the chemicals are at the bottom.

The Bad:

– Honestly, none but with all the chemicals way down the ingredient list I do have an eyebrow raised but it doesn’t matter.

Will I buy again?

Hell yeah! This is a staple leave in conditioner hunnies, did I mention it melts easily?

What’s our staple leave in conditioner and why? I’m half way through with this and I’d like to try something new.

  1. Ah! This is my Holy Grail, “King of all Kings ” leave- in conditioner.

    My sometimes stubborn hair is powerless against this product, especially when I have new growth. My strands melt like butter when coated with this conditioner, it’s so moisturizing.

    It’s been a staple for 3 years and smells heavenly too.

    1. Lol thank God someone agrees with me.
      I was thinking of using the whole range of Elasta Qp, they have the moisturizer and the curl wax in this same packaging and I’m hoping it will be great.

      1. I once purchased the moisturizer but found it too heavy and oily, but I easily fixed this flaw by first mixing with a glycerin and water solution before applying to my hair.

        The consistency is not necessarily a bad thing, if you don’t mind a combined ‘moisturize and seal’ routine in one quick step :-D. It’s just as effective as the leave-in, but I prefer lighter conditioners.

        1. Really? Well products actually vary with hair, texture and what have you.
          I don’t mind a moisturize and seal in one step, makes everything easier.
          I haven’t gotten glycerine oh just because… laziness.

          Next on my list is actually HairVeda moisturizer, been dreaming about it lol.

  5. I’ve used the Elasta QP olive oil and mango butter moisturizer but not the leave in. It was good but a tad oily.
    My staple is Cantu leave in conditioning repair cream. My hair likes it and it’s a big tub so I get value for my money

    1. Really? You’re the second person complaining it’s too oily oh. Do you add oils before applying the moisturizer? Maybe that could be a factor?
      Plus I’ve heard good raves about Cantu but I’m just skeptical about products with shea butter as their second ingredient means 70% concentration, I can get that from my whipped shea butter lol.

      1. No oh, I don’t add oils before applying so that means the product is actually oily.
        For the Cantu, shea butter is actually the 7th ingredient on the list. Also the product has an argan oil version incase you don’t want the shea one. I’ve never used the argan though but AB has a review on her blog(the kink and I).

          2. Hi! The elasta qp moisturiser isn’t oily or greasy! I’ve been using it for close to 2yrs & everyday I have no reason to substitute it. Give it a try. Just use the right amount for your thick or fine hair & u’ll be good!
