New Hair, New Makeup.

Hey barbies (and kens), how did the holiday go?

I enjoyed mine because I was in the presence of God for the most of it, remember the church service? Yes, it was awessoommeee, God bless Pastor Kalejaiye and Pastors Bidoun and Modele, you can stream all services online too, check here.

I did a guest post on Grace‘s blog (Is Kissing A Sin?) lastweek but all efforts to reblog it on here has been… Anyhoo, read it here.

So I’ve had box braids in for a little over two weeks now (lol I’m so sorry, I didn’t even realize it’s been over two weeks) and I just have to gist you guys about this new discovery of mine oh.

New Braiding Method

So I didn’t do my braids the regular way, after reading Ab‘s post on her braids and also NaijaGirlNextDoor‘s post, I purported in my heart to do the method on my next braids.

First I stretched my hair with thread as seen here the night before.

Then at the salon I told the hairdresser to twist my hair (check here here here for mini twists posts).

Then she braided on the twists so that way my hair stays longer before it starts to stick out of the braids, get it?

P.S I made my twists a little fatter and my ends are a bit raggedy that’s why it sticks out in some areas, you can do smaller twists for less sticking out.

P.P.S Honestly this is the holy grail method and I’m never braiding my hair without twisting it first! I even made my sister do it yesterday when she got braids done.

P.P.P.S I had the front line of my hair braided the regular way because the stylist didn’t know how to do brush and twist it at the same time.

I used four (4) expression attachments in colour 30 (four wasn’t enough but we managed).

The attachment was cut into two and three, three for the back and two for the front, it stops at my waist.

New Makeup

Because my skin is verrryyy dry, I can’t use any product with matte/matifying included in their description so my new foundation is L.A Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup Foundation in Mocha and L.A Girl Ultimate Pressed Powder in Caramel.

This foundation is light weight and gives a nice light coverage and is quite build-able too but I’ve been sticking to two pumps only these days.

I love it, it stays for up to seven (7) hours when I set it with the L.A Girl Ultimate Pressed Powder and it doesn’t have a drying effect (I use Vegetable Glycerine as my primer/face moisturizer).

I’m also wearing L.A Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick in Amour, it’s a nice creamy nude for people with my skin tone, lasts for 4 – 5 hours before it dries out and you’d need to reapply, but for the price I think that’s worth it.

P.S Pardon the cracks in my lips, I was rushing today so I didn’t have time to use a lip moisturizer 😦

L.A Girl Perfecting Liquid makeup Foundation cost 1700n from Zlanche

L.A Girl Ultimate Pressed Powder cost 2000n from Zlanche

L.A Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick cost 1200n from Zlanche

It is very affordable and pocket friendly (you know I’m all about that life).

I also use Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in 600 but it oxidizes/evaporates after some hours and it is a lot like a light coverage foundation than a medium coverage.

If you’d like a side by side application and full review of both foundations, please say so in the comment box.

How’d you like my no makeup/everyday wearable makeup? MUA’s in the house make some noiiissseee! Lol have a wonderful day darlings!

  2. Hello Lady B,

I love the neutral lipcolour, it’s a perfect MLBB (my lips but better) for you. I don’t use foundation and I appreciate when it’s well applied and beautifully blended like you did.

I really like the freshness of the no-make-up, made up look, you look lovely Bookie 🙂

    1. Awww how sweet of you, thanks hun, this novice right here is trying haha.
If you’re a lady, I learnt a tip on how to apply foundation the right way so I’d blog about it later on, maybe you’d be moved to try it.
      Stay blessed hun!

  4. First of all, those braids look so good on you, the color. & I can’t wait for you to teach me how to do makeup oh, YouTube makes it seem so hard with someone applying 10 foundations on one face 😿😿 #Prettaaaaayyyyyyy

    1. Haha abi, thanks hun.
It even looks darker to me these days, it was quite bright when I first made it.
It’s really simple, twist your hair normally then plait it with the attachment.
Thank you so much for your kind words ^.^
